R.B “BERNIE” MURRAY (1900-1992)
In 1916 Bernie bought his first setter and for the next 76 years was never without one.

In 1979, he won the North American Woodcock Championship with his geat setter, Long Gone Stokely. Bernie was 79 years old at the time.

Bernie was also a breeder of note with the Grand National Grouse Champion Stokely’s Diablo Jake the most famous result.

However, his greatest contribution was his enthusiasm and constant encouragement to amateurs and newcomers to field trials. Particularly in New England and the Maritimes, his motto, “Win with a smile. Lose with a smile”, was his message.

Presented to his lovely wife, constant companion and supporter, Bobbie, with love, respect and admiration from his many friends.
