Class Attack

In April of 1986 my grandfather , (R.B. “Bernie” Murray) and I bred Stonewall Fly (a gift from Verle Farrow) to Grouse Ridge Leroy (a gift from Doc and Pete Flanagan), we kept a female pup we called “Belle”, registered name “Class Attack”. This litter also produced Stonestill Jessie (the all time female setter producer of setter champions) and Stonewall Kelly (who also produced several champions). Class Attack produced CH. Stokelys Al B ( when bred to our Stokelys Diablo Ace) who I had the privledge of handling and winning the 2000 National Amateur Grouse Championship with. Al B also has produced title winners.

Class Attack was an outstanding performer as well as a producer. “Belle” won many horseback stakes( with Bruce Jacobs handling) as well as walking stakes on wild and liberated birds. Class Attack was hunted hard on wild birds from New Brunswick to Louisanna. In 1990 Class Attack was named Runner Up in the Northern New England Open Woodcock Championship and won the Maine Grouse and Woodcock Classic a week later. In November Class Attack won the Burham Grouse Classic (now the New England Open Grouse Championship) and all these wild bird victories

Class Attack earned her an invitation to the inaurgural Grouse and Woodcock Invitational Championship in Galdwin, Michigan in the spring of 1991, and she also finished the year runner up in the Seminatore Setter Cover Dog Award. “Belle” ran off a streak of 12 wins in 13 starts, on both wild and liberated birds ,during this period.

I had the good fortune to handle RU CH Class Attack to all her wild bird placements plus her invitational effort in Michigan. All of the hundreds of hunting trips, and thrilling field trial moments will always stay with us.
