2x CH & RU Open Grouse CH Long Gone Porky wins second place ( was beat by his kennel mate, Long Gone DeQuan ) last weekend, Sat. April 23, 2022 in The Granite State Open Shooting Dog Classic.” Pork” scored 8 finds in his allotted time and I ran out of blanks, and clapped my hands for the last two quail ! Not only did Porky have a good showing but several of his pups, were making their field trial debuts, and won ! Both firsts place! One in puppy and one in derby ( but only puppy age).I scratched “Porky”( meaning, took him out of the stake and did not run him) on Sunday in The Amateur Shooting Dog , as I was breeding him to Reba, who you can see several posts below this.
Our youngest puppy, “Kenny Kilkenny” ( officially Long Gone Kilkenny) won the George Johnson Memorial Amateur Derby Classic on Sunday, April 24, 2022. Kenny nailed quail four times in his half hour, with pretty much broke work on his birds. Kenny was getting a bit rambunctious at times, particularly as his bird count was going up ! “Kenny” is by our CH Long Gone Porky out of our RU Open Grouse Champion Long Gone Juicy. His nick name as a puppy, named by my two daughter’s was “The BLOB” as he was sssooo fat! This stake is named after my dear friend, George Johnson of Bradford, PA.. I can’t help but think how much George would have liked this pup ( Kenny is only 12 months old)
