We ran our first trial of the spring last weekend. We would have posted sooner but I have been working at my business a lot and was away with my bride “Tammy” visiting my daughter “Ruthie” at Sebago Lake, Maine. We drew just under 80 dogs for the 2 day event, with almost 30 different handlers for the 9 stake program. Thank you to all who came from all over New England to run their dogs. Our Long Gone Juniper, or June Bug, got second in the Open Puppy Stake in her first ever event. She was beat by another first time puppy, sired by our multiple champion, Long Gone Porky! ( we were happy about that ). Junie came right back and won the White Mountain Open Derby Classic with 8 broke finds! I was out of ammo after 6 finds and shots, so just clapped my hands as the birds flew! I ran her in The New Hampshire Amateur Puppy Classic on Sunday morning where she earned her third ribbon of the trial, getting the judges nod for second! I scratched her out of the open derby qualifier as she got qualified the day before, and I did the same for the amateur derby, and scratched her there also. All that grouse hunting last fall paid off !June Bug is a daughter of our Winning male, Long Gone DeQuan.6 x Classic Winner Long Gone DeQuan won the Granite State Open Shooting Dog Classic last Sat. April 23, 2022 over a large and talented field. “Quan” scored 6 broke and attractive finds in his blue ribbon effort. “Quan” is a son of our 3x RU Open Grouse CH Long Gone Studly . “Quans” mama is the legendary winning bitch, CH Phillips Half Moon ( has won 9 championship titles. Her daddy is 2 x CH Long Gone Boston)I want to Thank the Judges, Joe Dahl and Russell Ogilvie, both from the coast of central Maine, who came a long way to look over this Classic. Both men have championship winning dogs in their kennels! We are liking the pups we are seeing out of ” DeQuan”.
